Ticket for Local Public Transport

A public transport ticket is not included in the conference fee. If your Deutsche Bahn ticket includes the “+City” option then it is valid on the tram network on the day of your Deutsche Bahn train journey.

Information on tickets, bus routes, timetables and the route network in Bonn can be found on the SWB website at https://www.swb-busundbahn.de/en/english/ or with the help of the app "SWB easy.GO". (https://www.swb-busundbahn.de/service/kontakt-und-infos/social-media/).

The underground/tram station "Universität/Markt" is located directly in front of the main building of the university. It is served by the underground and tram lines 16, 63, 66, 67, and 68.

 

Arrival by Car

Due to the parking and traffic situation in Bonn, it is not recommended to travel by car. Guest parking spaces are not available at University Bonn.

 

Arrival by Train

The closest train service hub to the university is Bonn Central Station (Hbf). It is located in the heart of the city. From Bonn Central Station it is just a few minutes walk to the main building of the university.

Another train service hub close to the university is the ICE station Siegburg/Bonn on the other side of the Rhine river. From there, you can take the Subway 66 in direction of Bad Honnef to get to the station "Universität Markt", which is located in front of the main building of the university.(Travel time: 25 minutes to Bonn).

You can reach the Campus Poppelsdorf either by foot (25 minutes walk, follow the yellow dashed line on the city map) or by bus. All buses start from the ZOB (Zentraler Omnibus-Bahnhof, central bus station), which is reachable from the university's main building by a 2 minutes walk. Take bus number 604 (direction: Ückesdorf), 605 (direction: Duisdorf Bf), 606 or 607 (direction: Malteser Krankenhaus). Get off the bus at "Wiesenweg". Alternatively, take bus number 601 (direction: Uniklinikum Süd), 602 (direction: Waldau) or 603 (direction: Röttgen Schleife) until "Am Botanischen Garten". From there, follow the yellow path on the city map, which is a 5 minutes walk.
